This maternity photo session was a dream come true! Isabel had emailed me about doing her maternity photo shoot on the beach in Cascais, as she was pregnant and they were on a road trip through some countries in Europe. I'm always fascinated by these stories, so I was so thrilled when she chose me to capture this moment for them!
We went to the beach just in time to catch the golden hour, and the sunset was simply magnificent. The sky was painted with soft shades of pink, orange, and purple, creating the perfect backdrop for such a special moment. With the warm breeze and the sound of the waves, the whole atmosphere felt incredibly calm and serene. This beach is my favorite, and the truth is that the wind often takes center stage... but on this day, there was neither wind nor cold—an absolutely perfect afternoon!
The natural light was truly magical, wrapping the future mom in its glow in the most beautiful way. It was all about capturing her in her most authentic and relaxed state. No elaborate setups or props, just her and her husband, the beach, and that soft light that made every moment feel even more special.
It was a privilege to capture this moment. Pregnancy is such a fleeting time, and being able to capture it in such a natural and amazing environment was wonderful. I am so excited for this couple who were about to begin this new chapter in their lives, and I’m grateful to have been a part of this day. And a little secret: months later, I got to photograph little Philou, and it was an absolute pleasure!
