Destination Wedding in Algarve * Quinta dos Vales

Destination wedding in Algarve? This one was so beautiful! Quinta dos Vales, nestled in the heart of Estômbar, was the perfect backdrop for this relaxed and emotional celebration. Siobhan and Nick gathered their closest friends and family in Portugal for an unforgettable day, and everything about it felt intentional, joyful, and full of heart. Out of curiosity, this is probably the area in Portugal where I worked the less, but it's always so amazing to go to Algarve... as soon as you arrive and step out of the car, the air is so sweet!

Quinta dos Vales is not just a winery — it's a peaceful haven surrounded by rolling vineyards, sculptures, and warm Mediterranean light. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel the magic. With open-air spaces perfect for outdoor ceremonies and long dinners under the stars, it's easy to see why couples choose this unique venue for their destination wedding in the Algarve.

The ceremony was symbolic, intimate and heartfelt. And though the day was hot — as Portuguese summer days tend to be — a gentle breeze made it just right. The dinner was served al fresco, with the vineyards stretching out behind the tables and lights strung above like something out of a dream. In these moments I feel so proud of my country and for the wedding guests, because between the good food, good wine and this gorgeous weather, this is the very best we can offer!

As the sun began to set, Siobhan and Nick slipped away with me for a short golden hour portrait session in the vineyards. That soft, warm light + a couple completely in love and so laidback = magic. These quiet moments are some of my favorites during a wedding day — a little pause to breathe and just be together before the party continues.

Portugal has become one of the top spots in Europe for destination weddings, and it’s no wonder why — the weather, the food, the landscapes, the hospitality... it all comes together in a very special way. ✨ If you’re planning your own wedding here, I’ve created a Destination Wedding Guide to Portugal with tips, inspiration, and some of my favorite venues to help you get started!

And of course, we can’t forget the cake — or should I say tower of pastéis de nata! Four glorious layers of one of Portugal’s most beloved pastries. It was the most delicious end to a truly beautiful day.
