Last September, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Almudena and David’s beautiful wedding in Madrid — a day that perfectly balanced elegance with a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.
David started his afternoon getting ready at his parents’ house, surrounded by his sweet parents and his sister along with her own family. They were so fun to photograph, always with a huge smile and so welcoming, I just couldn't stop smiling. Meanwhile, Almudena prepared herself at the stunning Bless Hotel, the very place where later we would celebrate the wedding reception. The hotel’s chic and modern vibe was a perfect setting to capture those calm, intimate moments before the big “I do.” Almudena did her own make-up and helped her mom with her make-up and hair, so it set the mood for a relaxed moment between them.
Her custom wedding dress by Laura Monge was so perfect for Almudena's style and it matched so beautifully with her blue shoes and sweet elegant flowers.
The ceremony took place at the gorgeous Basilica de la Concepción de Nuestra Señora, an iconic Madrid landmark with breathtaking architecture that added an air of timeless elegance to their vows (check the photos of the ceiling, just breathtaking!).
After the ceremony, everyone moved to the rooftop terrace of the Bless Hotel for a reception bathed in golden light and city views. But while all the guests were heading to the rooftop of the hotel, we went to El Retiro for a few photos of the couple. Sometimes I get lucky and I manage to take pictures during a time where the light is beautiful. Sometimes I have to plan with the couple that we may have two separate moments for the pictures so that we can get that golden sunset light. On this day we were spot on with the timing! We arrived at Retiro at the perfect timing for the sunset, the light was absolutely gorgeous! And then when we headed back to the hotel, we were able to catch those very last moments of the sunset from the rooftop and it was the perfect ending for our session.
When the party started, Almudena and David, together with their guests, danced the night away at the hotel’s private nightclub, Fetén. The vibe was the perfect mix of laidback fun and stylish celebration — just like the couple themselves.
Capturing their wedding was a joy: from the emotional moments to the spontaneous laughter and the elegant details, every shot tells a story of love and celebration in Madrid’s heart.
