This engagement photo session in Madrid was definitely one of my favourite couple shoots of 2025. Lisa and her fiancé Bharath were visiting the city for a few days before travelling to the north of Spain to attend a wedding. They had recently gotten engaged themselves and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate this new chapter with a relaxed photoshoot in Madrid.
Before every session, I share my Madrid Photo Session Guide with clients to help them choose a location that feels right for them. They quickly fell in love with the idea of shooting at Parque El Retiro, one of the most beautiful and iconic spots in the city. Since they were staying nearby and already planning to explore the park during their trip, combining sightseeing with an engagement photo session felt like the perfect plan.
We spent the afternoon walking through the paths, stopping by elegant architectural corners and enjoying the soft golden light that Madrid is known for. Engagement sessions like this are always a lovely mix of storytelling and spontaneity, getting to know each couple, hearing about where they live and their wedding plans, and simply letting them enjoy the experience together. The weather was warm, the light was dreamy and time flew by much too quickly.
