I clearly remember receiving Annabelle’s email telling me about her wedding plans. The daughter of Portuguese parents, she moved with them to France at a young age, and it was there that she met Yves-No. They fell in love, and when they decided to get married, Portugal was their chosen destination. And as fate would have it, they were led to the Galeria Carpe Diem, right in the heart of Lisbon, where they fell in love with its peeling paint walls and charming high ceilings. At the back of the gallery, a slightly wild garden, with a centuries-old tree at its center—perfect for the kind of celebration they had in mind.
Their wedding was indeed peculiar and filled with amazing details that made me thrilled for being there capturing it all. It started by Annabelle getting ready at The Independente rooms, then the small ceremony at the bottom of a magnificent stone staircase and decorated by amazing flowers. After the ceremony, and as a surprise for all the guests, there were tuk-tuks waiting outside to take us all on a ride through Lisbon. When we got back, we were invited to the courtyard the Art Gallery and dinner was served outside under a beautiful century old tree. The night ended with traditional Portuguese games, music by the Your Jukebox and ice-creams delivered by Santini.
