The first day of summer in Portugal is usually all about sun and warmth, but this day decided to surprise us. The wedding at Casa da Ínsua started with a heavy downpour that completely shifted plans. What was originally supposed to be a rustic outdoor celebration was quickly moved indoors. But even with the sudden change, this charming venue – a former grand estate turned into a 5-star hotel – provided the perfect backdrop for this elegant and laid-back wedding.
The groom, a Canadian who had lived in Sweden and now resided in London with his bride, kicked off his day with a relaxed round of golf with his friends. Meanwhile, the bride took a leisurely stroll around the lush grounds of the estate, enjoying a calm moment with her closest friends before the festivities.
Despite the rain, the atmosphere remained joyful and intimate. The indoor setting of Casa da Ínsua, with its historical charm and refined elegance, offered an inviting space where friends and family from around the world – many of whom had traveled from abroad – gathered to celebrate. The mix of foreign guests created a lively and international vibe, adding to the unique character of the day.
With its beautiful architecture and serene surroundings, Casa da Ínsua turned out to be the perfect venue for a laid-back yet sophisticated wedding. The day may not have gone according to plan weather-wise, but the love, laughter, and memories shared made it an unforgettable experience.
