Today we wrap up the week with one of the weddings that made me happiest to photograph in 2016 – the wedding of Laura and Bruno. Laura is from Germany and Bruno is Portuguese, but their paths crossed during their academic journeys, and Bruno couldn’t resist following Laura to Germany.

It’s one of those love stories that make us dream and truly believe that love is the most beautiful thing in the world — and above all, that it knows no borders or language.

Their wedding day was full of warmth, laughter, and the sweetest moments shared between two families who didn’t speak the same language, but still managed to understand each other through smiles, embraces and emotion (and English, of course!). It was the perfect example of how love can unite people in the most genuine way.

What made this day even more special was how Laura and Bruno brought pieces of both their cultures into the celebration. From heartfelt speeches in two languages to the blend of traditions, everything felt deeply personal and honest — a true reflection of who they are. These are the kind of stories I feel privileged to witness and capture.
