This wedding in Alentejo was definitely one of the weddings that I liked the most to shoot in almost 7 years of work. And for several reasons actually, for the people in it, who were so kind and always with a smile on their faces since our first meeting, for being so relaxed during their wedding day, which just makes everything so much better, for what they pictured and put in practice, for the small wedding they planned, for taking me to this side of the country... and for all the details that were part of this day.
Everything happened a year ago, Summer hadn't officially started, but we were already having days with +40ºC. We were almost in Spain, the landscape was as wide as you can imagine and you could loose sight of it, and everything happened on a very small town called Safara. Catarina and Miguel planned for everything to happen on the same square, they got ready on the same house, though not seeing each other, they both got out of the house and walked to church, gathered around the table on a restaurant just across the street and got back to the house to get the party started! Though the day had started sunny, it soon became one of those summer thunderstorm kind if days, but truth be told, no matter the weather, Alentejo is always beautiful!
So, let's travel in time and see what happened one year ago?
