Some proposals feel emotional from the very beginning, and Martha and Vincent’s surprise proposal in Madrid was definitely one of those moments. Vincent had planned everything ahead of time while they were visiting Madrid with friends, and somehow managed to keep the secret despite all their family and close friends already knowing what was about to happen. As soon as he got down on one knee at Campo del Moro, Martha’s reaction said it all, laughing, shaking, completely surprised and overwhelmed with happiness.

Campo del Moro turned out to be the perfect location for such a special moment. With its quiet pathways, views towards the Royal Palace and beautiful spring light, it feels surprisingly peaceful for being right in the center of Madrid. After the proposal, we spent some time simply walking through the gardens, letting them enjoy the moment together before continuing the session towards Jardines de Sabatini, another one of my favorite spots nearby for couple and engagement photos in Madrid.

One of the things I love most about photographing proposals is how different every story feels. Some couples arrive nervous, others playful, others completely unsuspecting, but there is always this beautiful shift once the proposal happens and everything suddenly feels lighter.

Martha and Vincent were glowing for the rest of the session, and it was such a joy to document this little piece of their trip to Madrid.
